Tim Hudak


Ontario Real Estate Association

After a distinguished 21 years of public service in the Ontario Legislature, Tim Hudak is now the CEO-Designate of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), one of Canada’s largest provincial industry associations representing over 66,000 REALTORS®.

First elected to Queen’s Park in 1995, Hudak was appointed to Cabinet in three successive economic portfolios: Northern Development and Mines; Tourism, Culture and Recreation; and Consumer and Business Services where he focused on job creation, spurring investment and modernizing regulations. As Minister of Consumer and Business Services, he worked closely with OREA to write the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002, and to create the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO).

In 2009, Hudak won the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, where he spearheaded the development of his Party’s integrated and detailed policies for job creation and economic growth. Two years later, he led his Party to the largest increase in the number of PC MPPs since Mike Harris in 1995.

Hudak earned an Economics degree from the University of Western Ontario, and was subsequently awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Washington, where he obtained his Master of Arts in Economics. He is married to Deb Hutton and together they have two daughters, Miller and Maitland.
