The Honourable Steven Del Duca, MPP

Minister of Transportation

MPP Vaughan

Ontario’s Minister of Transportation, the Hon. Steven Del Duca has a proven track record of outstanding community involvement and a clear dedication to public service.
Del Duca was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in September 2012 in a provincial byelection. He was re-elected in June 2014 and appointed Ontario’s Minister of Transportation in Premier Kathleen Wynne’s cabinet. As Minister, he has worked on many projects in eastern Ontario, including delivering $1 billion in phase 2 funding for the Ottawa LRT.

In 2015, Minister Del Duca successfully amended the Making Ontario's Roads Safer Act to respond to a number of important issues impacting Ontarians today. The new legislation enacts new fines and sanctions for distracted driving, and new rules and sanctions for drug impaired driving that mirror the existing rules for alcohol-impaired driving.

Del Duca obtained a bachelor of laws from Osgoode Hall law school in 2007. Previously, he studied political science and Canadian history at the University of Toronto and Carleton University.

He first moved to Vaughan in 1987 when his family settled in Kleinburg. Today, he lives in Woodbridge with his wife and two daughters.
