The Hon. Pierre Poilievre

Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Democratic Reform

Pierre Poilievre was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004 and re-elected in 2006, 2008 and 2011.

Mr. Poilievre was appointed Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Democratic Reform in February 2015. Previously, he was appointed Minister of State (Democratic Reform) in July 2013.

He was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board in February 2006, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs in May 2008 and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario in May 2011.

Mr. Poilievre holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Calgary.

He is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

He lives in Barrhaven, Ontario.
