The Honourable Christy Clark

The Honourable Christy Clark

Premier of British Columbia

Government of Canada

Christy Clark was sworn in for her second term as British Columbia’s 35th Premier on June 10, 2013 and was elected MLA for Westside-Kelowna in a by-election on July 10, 2013.

Premier Clark has continued her relentless focus on strengthening the economy and ensuring that government controls spending. She is working to ensure to seize BC’s liquefied natural gas opportunity, secure responsible economic development throughout the province, seek trade and investment opportunities with the fast-growing economies of Asia, and make sure British Columbians are first in line for new jobs.
Recognizing British Columbians’ shared interest in a strong economy, Premier Clark has forged new partnerships with the private sector, First Nations communities, and labour unions.

She previously served as the MLA for Vancouver-Point Grey (2011-2013), Port Moody-Burnaby Mountain (1996-2001) and Port Moody-Westwood (2001-2005). She has served as Deputy Premier, Minister of Education, Minister of Children and Family Development and vice-chair of Treasury Board.
