Ms. Findlay is a lawyer by profession. She was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1979 and practiced law in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia for many years before entering politics. She has been active in the Canadian Bar Association, particularly as President for the BC branch, the founding Chair of the National Women Lawyers Forum, BC Women Lawyers Forum, and Chair of the Constitutional Law Section. Ms. Findlay served as a Member of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal from 2006 to 2011.

Ms. Findlay resides in Delta, BC with her husband Brent, and is the mother of four children.
