Greg D’Avignon was appointed in November of 2010 as the President and CEO of the Business Council of British Columbia (BCBC). BCBC is non-partisan organization comprised of the 260 leading businesses, academic institutions and organizations with assets and operations in every sector of BC's economy that combined employ 25 percent of the province’s labour force.

Through relevant public policy development and effective leadership and advocacy, BCBC works with businesses, governments, First Nations and other thought leaders to enable the circumstances for industry to confidently invest and the economy and people of BC to reach their full potential.

Mr. D’Avignon is a fourth generation British Columbian, that over the last 25 years has served in senior private sector roles in global and regulated industries, and in government and industry association leadership positions. Immediately prior to joining BCBC, Greg was the President of Canada’s National Brewers. Greg also previously served the Prime Minister of Canada, and the federal Ministers of National Defence and Justice.

Involved in his community, Greg is a little league coach, the immediate past-Chair of the BC Cancer Foundation, and Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, as well as a current member of the Board of the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. He also serves on the Board of the Premier’s Aboriginal Business Investment Council and on several provincial and local health, athletic, community, and corporate boards. He is enjoys being a mediocre golfer and a third line checking forward on his senior men’s hockey team.

In 2013 in recognition of his work in business and the community at large, Greg received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
