Charles Sousa

Charles Sousa is Ontario’s Minister of Finance and has been the Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Mississauga South since 2007.

As Minister of Finance, Charles has overseen the delivery of Ontario’s first balanced budget in a decade, supporting historic investments in infrastructure, education and healthcare. He has played a lead role in the formation of the Canadian Cooperative Securities Regulator and led Ontario’s negotiation with the federal government and other provinces to enhance the Canada Pension Plan.

He possesses an extensive background in the financial sector, working at RBC Financial Group for more than 20 years in commercial banking. He has also served as a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Toronto Board of Trade, and as a director of the American Chamber of Commerce.
