Hon. Peter Bethlenfalvy

The Hon. Peter Bethlenfalvy is Ontario’s President of the Treasury Board, and leads the government’s efforts on expenditure management, which includes the line-by-line review of the province’s finances.

An internationally-renowned figure in the financial services sector, Minister Bethlenfalvy draws upon over 25 years of senior leadership experience in capital markets, risk management and investments. Prior to entering politics, he served as Co-President at DBRS Ltd., where he managed the team that downgraded Ontario’s short and long-term debt ratings in 2009. He started his career with TD in New York, where he ultimately served as President and Chief Operating Officer of TD Securities.

Minister Bethlenfalvy has extensive experience working with boards and sat on the Board of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada as a member of their Finance, Audit and Risk Committee and Development Committee.

Passionate about making a difference in his community, Minister Bethlefalvy believes in giving back and making a difference through organizations like the True Patriot Love Foundation. In 2014, along with 24 leaders and 12 injured soldiers, he skied 100km to the Magnetic North Pole. Collectively, the team raised $2.1M for critical programs that support service men, women, Veterans and their families.
