Building the Defence Economy

Defence spending is rising. The opportunity is to ensure that investment creates lasting value in Canada by strengthening supply chains, creating skilled jobs, advancing technology and IP, and building domestic industrial capacity.

This discussion will examine how Canadian firms and global defence companies can build partnerships that bring capital, technology and access to international markets, while strengthening capabilities at home. It will also explore what needs to change in procurement, financing and policy to enable investment and growth at scale.

What can Canada learn from its own successes, and from allies that have turned defence investment into an engine of manufacturing, innovation and export growth?
