Dean A. Connor is President of Sun Life Financial Canada.
Mr. Connor heads the Company's Canadian operations which across its group benefits, group retirement, and individual wealth and insurance businesses has a relationship with one in five Canadians. Mr. Connor assumed this position in 2008 and also oversees Sun Life's worldwide Reinsurance operations.
He joined Sun Life in 2006 as Executive Vice-President with responsibility for the Company’s United Kingdom and Reinsurance operations, international expansion and Corporate functions such as Medical and Underwriting.
Mr. Connor's earlier career was with Mercer Human Resource Consulting where he gained significant industry and international experience. He rose to become its President for the Americas, encompassing Mercer's business in the U.S., Latin America and Canada. Prior to that he was Chief Executive Officer of Mercer's Canadian operations, where he focused on the areas of investment, retirement, group benefits and compensation.
Mr. Connor is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He holds an Honours Business Administration (HBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
