Ben Champoux
Business Development Specialist City of Moncton, New Brunswick
Originally from the Eastern Townships in Quebec, Ben moved to Moncton in 1998 when he was offered a Market Analyst position with Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation. In 2001, Ben was promoted to Senior Market
Analyst for New Brunswick, a position that he held for 4 years. In June 2005, Ben joined the City of Moncton to lead the new Economic Development Office. In his role as the City’s Business Development Specialist, he is accountable for planning and executing initiatives that raise
Moncton’s visibility nationally and internationally, and enhance the City’s prosperity and quality of life.
Ben has a background in Economics. He studied in economics at Université de Sherbrooke as well as at Eastern
Connecticut State University in the United States. Ben also worked for 2 years as a consultant in the Health
Care sector in Montreal after completing his Masters in Health Administration at l’Université de Montréal.
Ben has been happily married since October 2000 to Nathalie Grant, a family doctor in the Moncton region.
Their proudest moment is the adoption, earlier this summer, of their two little angels from Haiti, Ysloby, 6, and his sister Widline, 3.
