The Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are bringing significant benefits to Canadians and will create lasting legacies for Canadian businesses, communities, and citizens. In order to measure the impacts of hosting the 2010 Winter Games, and the steps taken by the federal and provincial governments to leverage these impacts, the Governments of Canada and British Columbia jointly commissioned PricewaterhouseCoopers to undertake a study of the Games’ socio-economic impacts. The results of the study add further impetus to the idea that the economics of sport fully complement the Olympic and Paralympic Games’ celebratory spirit.
