The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs addresses the Economic Club of Canada on November 23rd 2009. Canada is an Arctic nation and an Arctic power. The Harper Government has made the Arctic one of its major policy initiatives and has created a comprehensive Northern Strategy. The Government is committed to helping the North realize its true potential as a healthy, prosperous and secure region within a strong and sovereign Canada. Minister Cannon will explain how Canada’s Arctic Foreign Policy is delivering on this, providing the international platform from which to promote and advance our interests and values in the world. He will also speak to Canada’s overall foreign affairs priorities.
